Don Cesar
#126177
- Chestnut Stallion, Foaled May
30, 1975
-
- Don Cesar (affectionately known
as "Cinders) came to us from Vancouver Island, British Columbia,
where he had been the favorite saddle horse of his late owner,
Dennis Murphy. Cinders is one of the last horses available anywhere
of straight Skyline breeding, as well as one of only a handful
of tail male descendants of the outstanding Abu Farwa son Antezeyn
Skowronek. He is a calm, unflappable, dignified gentleman, and
we sometimes refer to him as our "wise old owl." He
still shows his athletic ability, even at his advanced age. He
is a very correct horse, with extremely good bone (both in quantity
and quality), short cannons, strength, and balance. In his short
time with us, he has already proved himself to be a very useful
sire, with young daughters in our herd, and a replacement son
as well as another outstanding young daughter at Rick Synowski
Arabians in Culver, Oregon.
-
- In September of 2003, at the
age of 28, we took Don Cesar to the Idaho All-Arabian Country
Classic horse show in Caldwell, Idaho. Despite not having been
ridden for years, he went happily back under saddle into two
classes, placing 2nd in the Jack Benny English Pleasure Class
and 3rd in the Sport Horse Under Saddle class. He then proceeded
to take 1st in the Purebred Stallion ATH class, 1st in the Purebred
Monarch class (age 15 and over), and 1st in the Purebred Stallion
Sport Horse In Hand class!
-
- The top three photos below
were taken at the NW CMK Symposium in McMinnville, Oregon, when
he was 26; in the lower photo, he sports his ribbons at the IAACC
at age 28.
